Hyperion’s engineers develop smart solution for rotary cutter operations

Cutting units are a central piece in converting lines, and the ability to monitor the cutting function and perform preventative maintenance helps generate continuous savings. 

IQUT, Hyperion Materials & Technologies intelligent rotary cutting solution, enables customers to measure, monitor and visualize the parameters that directly impact cutting performance in real time. 

Not all customers are equipped to handle data in the same way. So, Hyperion's engineering team listened to customer demands and designed three solutions that can be matched with the information technology (IT) capabilities of a wide range of customers.

Manufacturing IT system capabilities are rapidly increasing in terms of data handling and communication, enabling the development of new tools to increase productivity of the production line. IQUT's design brings robust sensors and communication tools into Hyperion's world-class cutting units.

Jacques Secondi has worked for Hyperion for 23 years and currently serves as the Engineering Manager for the Hyperion production unit in Épinouze, France. He is responsible for new product and process development for rotary cutters as well as production and customer application support. Jacques has a Masters in Engineering, Mechanics & Materials Science, PhD in Materials Science and an MBA.
