Brian Coate

Senior Vice President, General Counsel

Brian Coate joined Hyperion Materials & Technologies in July 2018 as Senior Vice President and General Counsel following KKR’s acquisition of the Company. As a member of Hyperion’s executive leadership team, Brian is responsible for the Company’s global legal affairs, corporate governance, ethics and compliance, and Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) functions. Since joining Hyperion, he has played a key role in developing the Company’s legal, governance and compliance framework as a stand-alone global organization and serves as a trusted advisor to the Board of Directors and executive leadership team on legal and strategic business matters.

 

Prior to joining Hyperion, Brian served as Vice President, Legal for the Rolled Products business unit of Aleris Corporation. Earlier in his career, he held legal positions with the Cleveland Clinic Foundation and the international law firm Squire, Sanders & Dempsey. Over the course of his career, Brian has supported complex global organizations and cross-border business initiatives throughout Europe, North America, and Asia.

 

Brian is based at Hyperion’s corporate headquarters in Dublin, Ohio.
