Cemented carbide automotive wear parts solutions

Hyperion Materials & Technologies has more than 20 years of experience developing cemented carbide solutions that meet the requirements of the automotive industry. Our cemented carbide has great dimensional stability due to a high Young's modulus and compressive strength while featuring a low coefficient of thermal expansion. We partner with our customers to improve performance and develop solutions for their automotive applications.

PRODUCTS APPLICATIONS

• Wear plates

• Needles

• Shafts

• Bushings

• Pins

• Valve balls

• Actuators

• Injectors components

• High pressure pumps

• Valve trains

• Pumps

• Turbochargers

BENEFITS

• Accuracy of the application by mantaining size and shape tolerance of microns without deformation, even under heavy loads and high temperatures, thanks to combination of its high stifness and low thermal expantion coefficient

• Long service life product under repetitive runs thanks to its high wear and abrasion resistance

• Reliability thanks to high quality manufacturing processes including certification to IATF 16949:2016 (Barcelona, Spain location)

The reliability of our cemented carbide directly supports system efficiency

Pressures in diesel injection systems have risen above 2,000 bars, and new generations produce above 2,500 bars. Material selection plays a key role for the reliability and efficiency of fuel injections to handle such pressure, high temperature, corrosion, or a combination of these conditions.

*Cemented carbide is also known as solid carbide or tungsten carbide (WC).

Certified for automotive manufacturing

Hyperion has certification to IATF 16949:2016 (Barcelona, Spain location) for manufacturing cemented carbide components from sintered to fully finished condition.
