Carbide Rod Research

Carbide Rod Research Note

Hyperion cemented carbide tool life comparison - High performance series vs application specific series Hyperion Materials & Technologies has introduced three series of cemented carbide grades to help customers select the optimal grade best suited for their end-use application.

The choice of material used to produce end mills and drills for machining operations has a major impact on results.  Visit our PDF Download section for a research note presenting results from tests conducted in our Hyperion Technology Center (USA).

INCONEL® Milling with Grade H10F Carbide Rods

Hyperion cemented carbide grade H10F Inconel machining tool life comparison Hyperion Materials & Technologies' High Performance grade H10F has been engineered to give superior performance when milling INCONEL®.

In tests conducted in our Hyperion Technology Center (USA), carbide rods made from grade H10F outperformed conventional rods by up to 50% while exhibiting repeatable and consistent performance.  The grade H10F carbide rods exhibit an engineered balance of hardness and toughness. Visit our PDF Download section for a leaflet containing test details and additional results.

*INCONEL is a registered trademark owned by Huntington Alloys Corporation in the US and elsewhere.

Titanium Milling with Grade AM70 Carbide Rods

Hyperion cemented carbide grade AM70 trochoidal milling Hyperion Materials & Technologies' Application Specific grade AM70 has been engineered to give outstanding performance in trochoidal milling.

In tests conducted in our Hyperion Technology Center (USA), carbide rods made from grade AM70 outperformed conventional rods by up to 30% while exhibiting repeatable and consistent performance.  The grade AM70 carbide rods were more stable and gave less spindle load than the conventional rods. Visit our PDF Download section for a leaflet containing test details and additional results.
