Description: Carbide ring gages used for external diameter inspection in precision‑driven industries.
Carbide Ring Gages for Outside Diameter Measurement
Hyperion manufactures carbide‑inserted ring gages designed to provide long‑term accuracy in measuring outside diameters. Ring gages are available from 0.010 inches (0.254 mm) to 4.011 inches (101.88 mm), with the capability to produce custom designs beyond this standard range.
For ring gages larger than 2.00 inches (50.8 mm), the protective outer jackets, previously manufactured in steel, are produced using a rigid nylon material. This nylon structure better complements the thermal characteristics of carbide, reduces overall tool weight, and acts as an insulator to minimize heat transfer to the gaging element. This design improves stability in production inspection environments.
Custom Ring Gages
For applications requiring non‑standard sizes or unique dimensional configurations, Hyperion provides full custom ring gage development, including:
- Non‑standard diameters
- Special geometries
- Application‑specific tolerances
- High‑wear or specialized material solutions
The Hyperion engineering team works directly with customers to design and manufacture ring gages that meet exact performance and application requirements.
