Grade Selection
Hyperion Materials & Technologies manufactures a range of superior cemented carbides for hob blanks (gear cutting tool blanks). An overview of our carbide grades and their uses is provided below.
ISO P Steel
All type of steels, unalloyed steels, alloyed steels, and cast steel with exception of steel with austenitic structure. Use cemented carbide grades:
- PN90
- DM80
- AM50
- H10F
- AM70.
ISO M Steel
Stainless steel austenitic, austenitic-ferrite steel, and cast steel (duplex). Use cemented carbide grades:
- DM80
- AM50
- MP40
- AM70.
ISO K Materials
Grey cast iron (GCI), cast iron with spheroidal graphite, malleable cast iron (MCI), nodular cast iron (NCI), compacted graphite iron (CGI), and austempered ductile iron (ADI). Use cemented carbide grades:
- H10F
- AM70.
ISO H Materials
Hardened steel, cast iron materials, and chilled cast iron. Use cemented carbide grades:
- PN90
- DM80.
