Advancing Sustainable Packaging
Reduce Plastic Consumption by More Than 70%
Hyperion’s redesigned packaging reduces plastic usage by more than 70% compared to the previous design. The streamlined structure uses PET as its only plastic material and incorporates 30% post-consumer recycled content to reduce reliance on virgin plastic.
PET is widely accepted in established recycling systems and carries the #1 resin identification code, supporting easier material identification and sorting.
HIGH RECYCLED CONTENT & FULLY RECYCLABLE LABELING
Hyperion’s trapped blister card packaging incorporates 100% post-consumer recycled fiber, reducing demand for virgin paper materials. The paperboard components are designed for recycling through established paper and cardboard recycling streams.
Natural latex adhesive and removable paper labels support material separation and help minimize contamination during recycling. The packaging design enables PET and paperboard components to be separated for appropriate material recovery.
INTEGRATED CIRCULARITY FOR CONTINUOUS MATERIAL REUSE
Circularity is intentionally built into Hyperion’s PCD and PCBN packaging architecture. PET and card components are not glued together, enabling clean disassembly at end-of-use, while low-tack labels support efficient preparation of PET components for material return.
Eligible PET cases and lids can be collected and returned to Hyperion through the packaging reclamation program, where the material is reclaimed and repurposed for repeated cycles. The approach extends the useful life of packaging materials while reducing demand for new plastic.
How to Return Packaging Materials
Hyperion's packaging reclamation program enables customers to return elgible PET cases and lids for material recovery. Follow the steps below to prepare and arrange a return.
Step 1: Prepare and Collect Materials
- Separate the PET cases and lids from the paperboard packaging
- Dispose of paperboard components and labels through appropriate papaer and cardboard recycling streams
- Completely remove the preforated label section from each PET component
- Collect a minimum of 500 case-and-lid pairs to qualify for collection
- Stack cases and lids separately to minimize shipping volume
Step 2: Package Materials for Return
- Place the stacked PET cases and lids in a cardboard shipping box
- Ensure all components are free of labels, marketings, and damage
- Include equal quantities of cases and lids
- Record the total weight and dimensions of the packed box
Step 3: Arrange Collection
Email circularity-snn@hyperionmt.com to request a return shipping label.
Include the following information:
- Collection address
- Quantitiy and description of materials being returned
- Total package weight and dimensions
- Shipping contact name and email address
- Shipping contact phone number
- Facility operating hours for collection
Hyperion will provide a retun shipping label by email. Once the label is applied and the shipment is ready, notify Hyperion to arrange courier collection.
Instructions for Use
Follow the steps below to open the packaging and securely store any unused PCD or PCBN products.
Step 1: Break the Label Seal
Using a plastic knife or envelop opener, carefully separate the perforated end of the label from the main section.
Step 2: Remove the Tamper-Evident Tabs
Tear along the perforated tamper-evident tabs located on either side of the label end of the paperboard packaging.
Step 3: Remove the PET Container
Carefully slide the PET container out of the paperboard sleeve. The PET and paperboard components are not glued together, allowing easy separation.
Step 4: Access the Products
Remove the lid from the PET case and take out the required PCD or PCBN disc or cut pieces.
Step 5: Securely Store Remaining Products
If unused products remain, replace the lid on the PET case and slide the container back into the paperboard sleeve for secure storage.
