Hyperion Materials & Technologies offers water-based or oil-based slurries & suspensions mixed with diamond. Applying slurries and suspensions for polishing can be an art form. There are many ways to achieve the desired results, although Hyperion offers several rules to achieve optimal performance:

Keep the polishing area clean.

Dedicate a polishing tool for each grade size. Each tool should be stored in a separate container.

Polishing tools gradually become saturated and improve with the use.

Clean hands and workpieces carefully between grades

Apply the diamond paste to the tool when manually polishing. Apply the paste to the workpiece when the machine is polishing.

Polish existing scratch marks at a 90-degree angle. This helps increase stock removal and shows when old marks are gone.

High material removal requires high pressure and coarse grits. Finishing polishing requires low pressure and the finest grits.
